** Updated May 3rd, 2020 **
WE AT TREASURE VALLEY TAX TAKE CORONAVIRUS-19 SERIOUSLY.
We are open for business, just not ‘as usual’. We are focused on finishing your tax returns as soon as possible and processing your payroll and bookkeeping needs timely.
HOWEVER, FOR YOUR SAFETY AND OTHERS – Effective May 3, we are now allowing one client inside the front lobby at a time for drop-offs and pick ups. We are still holding meetings over the phone only, not in our individual offices.
There are methods other than in-person to exchange information and communicate, and those methods are now being used. We have a skeleton staff in the office and all others are working remotely. We know the tax payment deadline and the tax return deadlines are extended; but let’s go into summer without tax returns on your to-do list.
Note: see Federal and State deadlines below- they may be different!
OUR CV-19 STRATEGY – SINCE WE CAN NO LONGER SEE YOU IN PERSON
Do you still need to submit information?
You may use the Portal (Intuit Link), Mail, Fax, or our outside Drop Box. Most clients who have an e-mail have received an invitation to the Portal. If you haven’t received an invitation and would like to use this method, please contact us.
Have you submitted information and are waiting? Once your tax return is complete, you will be sent an e-mail with a DocuSign link and your draft tax return. Once you have reviewed your return, just sign. We will then e-file your tax return and mail your package to you. Easy! If we do not have your e-mail address, the packet will be mailed to you, and you need to sign and return all required forms in the return envelope provided.
Have you received your completed tax return packet already? Please remember payment is expected at time of service. You can pay by mailing a check or calling with a card. We thank you in advance.
NEED TO SPEAK WITH US? Our meetings continue, via phone.
TAX DEADLINE CHANGES
There has been lots of movement regarding tax deadlines. Keep in mind while you have heard lots of news regarding the Federal extensions, states have their own extensions.
Individual Tax Return (normal due date April 15th)
- The Federal tax filing and payment deadline have both been extended to July 15th. IRA and H.S.A. contributions for 2019 can also be made through July 15th.
- Idaho extended the tax filing and payment deadline. HOWEVER, Idaho is June 15th.
- Oregon: follows Federal guidelines, so Oregon’s return and payment due dates are extended to July 15th
Individual Quarterly Estimates for 2020
- The Federal’s Q1 Estimates are extended to July 15th. Q2 Estimates are now due July 15th
- Idaho doesn’t require quarterly estimates, so no ‘hard’ due dates.
- Oregon’s Q1 estimated payments are still due on the regularly scheduled date.
Please contact us if you have questions regarding states other than Idaho and Oregon.
WE APPRECIATE YOUR BUSINESS. Remember, we are still working to meet our client’s needs. Thank you for keeping our community healthy.
